Orthodontic treatment allows you to achieve a lasting, beautiful smile. It involves the correction of crooked teeth and jaws and can be one of the best investments for your, or your child's, health. Age is less important than having the proper number of teeth. So adults of any age can have orthodontic treatment. For young children, it may be necessary to wait for enough adult teeth to come through before starting the treatment.

METAL BRACES

These braces are most commonly made from stainless steel and attached onto the teeth using tooth coloured filling material (composite resin). Care has to be taken eating hard foods as the attachment can easily be broken leading to a disruption in treatment. An orthodontic wire (archwire) is tied (or ligated) into the bracket using coloured elastic rings which can discolour in-between visits. These elastics can be silver coloured to blend in with the appliance or brightly coloured. As treatment progresses the orthodontist will progress to thicker wires which can place greater forces onto the teeth. The brace can easily be removed at the end of treatment leaving the teeth intact.

LINGUAL BRACES

There are types of braces that can be placed behind your teeth. These are called as Lingual Braces or Incognito. No one will ever know if you are wearing braces or not! Lingual incognito braces in Dubai. When it comes to unnoticeable braces, the main difference between this lingual incognito braces and invisalign is that the Lingual Braces is fixed and the invisalign is not, which can be removed while brushing or even for an occasion. However, the Lingual braces is positioned at the back side of the teeth but the invisalign is positioned in front of the teeth.

INVISALIGN

Invisalign aligners are manufactured specifically for your teeth metrics after measuring your impressions and sending them to a invisalign lab. Using the latest digital technology the lab manufactures the clear retainers in 2 weeks for you.

CERAMIC BRACES

Unlike Metal Braces, Tooth Coloured Fixed braces use stainless steel and the attachments may be made from a hard ceramic material to blend in with the tooth colour. This produces a more aesthetically pleasing appliance which is far more attractive option. The orthodontic wires can also be tooth coloured to help improve the appearance further. Ceramic fixed appliances can be as effective as conventional fixed appliances at achieving tooth movement. Sometimes they are not recommended for the lower teeth, if the bite is ‘deep’, because the hard material can damage the opposing teeth that contact the attachments. Ceramic appliances are slightly more difficult to remove than conventional fixed appliances, however, they are unlikely to damage healthy teeth in most cases.

ALIGNERS

Many adults or older teens would like to improve their smiles but hate the idea of traditional orthodontics. Aligner orthodontic treatment that is a great alternative to metal braces. Unlike traditional braces, patients don't have to endure painful, ugly metal wires or bands. Virtually invisible, the aligners system works through a series of custom aligners.

During the first visit, the dentist will take impressions of your teeth and digitalize them. From these impressions, your doctor can create a computerized image of the teeth. Using the 3-D model, the dentist will plan out the movement of the teeth. Custom aligners are then generated to fit your specific case. Every couple of weeks, patients change the aligners as prescribed by the dentist. The aligners gradually reposition the teeth little by little until you can enjoy a straight, attractive smile.

RETAINERS

A retainer is usually used to hold the teeth in place. Orthodontists use retainers of different types to maintain the achieved results after orthodontic treatment.
